Second Quill is built for writers who care about ownership of their work. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do not do with your data.
What we collect
- Account information: email address, username, display name, and sign-up date when you create an account.
- Login activity: sign-in timestamps and device registrations so we can enforce device limits and detect abuse.
- Purchase records: order references from Lemon Squeezy linked to your account so entitlements sync to the app.
- Optional preferences: marketing and newsletter opt-ins you choose at sign-up or in Settings.
What stays on your device
Your manuscripts, outlines, and AI conversation history are stored locally on your computer unless you explicitly use a cloud AI provider with your own API keys. We do not upload your novel content to our servers.
We do not sell your data
We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
Marketing communications
If you opt in, we may email you about Second Quill sales, promotions, or product updates. You can withdraw consent at any time in account Settings.
